Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

1. Sponsor

The Big Tree Inn, located in Geneseo, New York ("Sponsor"), is the sole sponsor and administrator of this giveaway.

2. Giveaway Period

The giveaway begins November 6, 2026, and ends November 11, 2026, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time ("Giveaway Period").

Entries submitted before or after the Giveaway Period will not be eligible.

3. Eligibility

The giveaway is open to legal residents of New York State who are at least 21 years of age at the time of entry.

Employees, owners, officers, and immediate family members of the Big Tree Inn, as well as individuals directly involved in the administration of this giveaway, are not eligible to participate.

By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules and all applicable laws and regulations.

4. How to Enter

To enter through Instagram:

  1. Follow the official Big Tree Inn Geneseo Instagram and/or Facebook Page.

  2. Visit the official Big Tree Inn Instagram or Facebook giveaway post.

  3. Like and leave a comment on the giveaway post tagging a friend. An additional comment tagging up to three additional friends may be made.

Each eligible participant may submit up to a total of four friends.

No purchase, payment, or financial contribution is necessary to participate. Participation is free.

Entries must be submitted during the Giveaway Period. Comments that are fraudulent, inappropriate, incomplete, or otherwise violate Instagram's terms may be disqualified.

5. Prize Description

One (1) winner will receive the following prize package:

  • Two (2) tickets to the Big Tree Inn Candlelight Dinner event on November 19, 2026.

  • A five-course prix-fixe dinner featuring menu selections inspired by historic Big Tree Inn menus of years gone by.

  • A $25 beverage credit.

  • One (1) overnight stay in the luxurious MacVittie Room at the Big Tree Inn, featuring a king bed and an in-room fireplace.

Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $425.00.

The prize is intended for the winner and one guest. Both individuals must be at least 21 years of age.

The prize is non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions will be provided except at the Sponsor's discretion.

Any additional expenses not specifically listed as part of the prize, including transportation, additional food or beverages, gratuities, incidental charges, and personal expenses, are the responsibility of the winner.

The $25 beverage credit is valid toward eligible beverage purchases during the event and has no cash redemption value.

The overnight accommodation is for November 19, 2026, only, and is subject to the Big Tree Inn's standard lodging policies.

6. Winner Selection

One (1) potential winner will be selected through a random drawing from all eligible entries received during the Giveaway Period.

The drawing will take place on November 12, 2026.

The Sponsor's decision regarding the selection of the winner is final.

The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

7. Winner Notification and Prize Claim

The potential winner will be contacted via direct message from the official Big Tree Inn social media account on the platform where the winning entry was submitted on November 12, 2026.

The potential winner must respond within 24 hours of notification to claim the prize.

The Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate winner if:

  • The potential winner does not respond within 24 hours.

  • The potential winner cannot be verified as eligible.

  • The potential winner declines the prize.

  • The potential winner fails to comply with these Official Rules.

The Sponsor may require proof of age and identity before awarding the prize.

The winner will be required to present valid government-issued photo identification and a valid credit card at hotel check-in for the standard damage/incidental authorization hold required for overnight guests.

The credit card authorization amount and applicable lodging policies will be communicated to the winner before arrival. The authorization will be released in accordance with the Big Tree Inn's standard policies, subject to any applicable charges or damages.

8. Prize Conditions

The winner and guest must be available to attend the Candlelight Dinner event on November 19, 2026.

The prize must be redeemed on the specified event date. Failure to attend or redeem the overnight accommodation on the designated date may result in forfeiture of the prize.

The Sponsor is not responsible for circumstances beyond its reasonable control that may prevent the event or overnight stay from taking place. If the event is canceled or the prize becomes unavailable, the Sponsor reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of equal or greater value, where permitted by law.

9. General Conditions

By participating, entrants agree to:

  • Abide by these Official Rules.

  • Release and hold harmless the Sponsor, its owners, employees, representatives, and affiliates from claims arising from participation in the giveaway or acceptance, use, or misuse of the prize, to the extent permitted by law.

  • Accept the Sponsor's decisions regarding the administration of the giveaway as final.

The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any participant who tampers with the entry process, violates these Official Rules, or engages in fraudulent or inappropriate conduct.

The Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the giveaway if circumstances beyond its reasonable control compromise the integrity or proper administration of the promotion, subject to applicable law.

10. Privacy

Information collected from participants will be used solely for administering this giveaway, verifying eligibility, and contacting the potential winner.

Personal information will not be sold or distributed to third parties for unrelated marketing purposes.

11. Instagram Disclaimer

This giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.

By entering, participants acknowledge that Instagram and Meta Platforms, Inc. are completely released from any responsibility or liability related to this promotion.

Participants understand that they are providing their information to the Sponsor and not to Instagram or Meta.

12. Applicable Law

This giveaway is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York.

Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
